Vacancy Name Direct Entry Captain Base United Kingdom Overview of Role We’re on the lookout for experienced and dedicated Captains to join Loganair as Direct Entry Captains across all our bases and fleets. Key Responsibilities As a Captain, you’ll hold full responsibility for the safety, security, and operation of the aircraft, its crew, and passengers, from the moment you arrive at the aircraft until engines shut down post-flight. Your leadership and judgment will be key in ensuring every journey is safe, efficient, and in line with both regulatory and company standards. You’ll: 1. Oversee all aspects of aircraft operation during flights 2. Make critical decisions during normal and non-normal operations 3. Lead and support the flight crew, setting a professional standard onboard 4. Ensure all procedures are followed and adapted safely as needed 5. Set an example in communication, professionalism and safety culture Skills and Knowledge We’re looking for Captains with strong technical ability, excellent communication and a professional approach to leadership and crew collaboration. Essential Skills & Attributes: 1. Full ATPL (UK CAA) with a current Class 1 Medical 2. Currently or recently operated in on a multi-crew aircraft (MTOW >10t or 19+ pax) 3. 1000 Hours operated Pilot-in-Command on a multi-crew aircraft MTOW >10t or with more than 19 seats operated in a passenger Commercial Air Transport Operation. 4. In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations, safety practices, and flight operations. 5. Ability to stay calm under pressure and make timely and sound decisions 6. Proven teamwork and leadership skills 7. Right to live and work in the UK Desirable: 8. Valid ERJ 145 or ATR 42/72 Type Rating For Type Specific applications the following criteria must apply: Essential for Embraer: 500 Hours operated Pilot-in-Command on a jet multi-crew aircraft MTOW >10t or with more than 19 seats operated in a passenger Commercial Air Transport Operation. Desirable for ATR: 500 Hours operated Pilot-in-Command on a Turboprop aircraft MTOW >10t or with more than 19 seats operated in a passenger Commercial Air Transport Operation Attitude We value Captains who are approachable, proactive, and focused on safety above all else.
